Fletcher Parkhotel De Wiemsel

This 4-star superior hotel is located on the outskirts of the artists' town of Ootmarsum and offers 56 rooms and suites. All suites have their own sun terrace with direct access to the surrounding park. The spa and wellness area offers seven treatment rooms for massages and facials, a large indoor pool, three saunas, and an adults-only panoramic relaxation area. In good weather, guests can enjoy the outdoor pool with sun loungers amidst the park. The "Restaurant de Wanne" offers a wonderful selection of delicious dishes accompanied by an impressive wine selection. As a crowning finale to the day, the park is illuminated every evening by numerous lights. The green surroundings are popular for cycling, hiking, and horseback riding. Another highlight of the region is golf, with players of all levels choosing from first-class clubs to beautiful natural courses. The nearest major cities, Almelo, Hengelo, Enschede, and Nordhorn, are within a 25 km radius. The nearest airport, Düsseldorf Airport, is 170 km away. Ootmarsum is just 12 km from the German border. We want it to be clearly stated that pets are allowed, but only upon request at the reception desk. Guests must call to make this request. Dogs are also only allowed in certain Junior Suites, and this is not clearly stated, which means we have many guests who arrive with dogs without giving advance notice.

This hotel is consistently a great place to recharge for a few days

Pros: We find ourselves coming back to this hotel every year. The restaurant is pretty good and so is breakfast. As always we had a great time at the SPA facilities. We will be coming back for sure. See you soon!

Cons: Not much. The restaurant should be ready to flawlessly accommodate guest with some dietary restrictions. It would also be great to finally have a jacuzzi. And since we are asking, the gym could also have an extra treadmill.

we had a very enjoyable, relaxing time at the hotel

Pros: The hotel has a big terrace, a swimming pool and a large area of grass behind the pool. It was lovely weather and I was resting alll afternoon in the shadow reading a book or watching people enjoying the pool.

The stay was nice, however, I found staff less attentive and personal.

Pros: Breakfast was good, however not as before. Less staff, less attentive.

Cons: Better ventilation in dining room, was too hot. Service for dinner was good but a bit chaotic, many different staff. Upon arrival, nobody to greet you, had to unload the car myself and bring to the lobby. No service at the pool, had to bring myself.

Pros: We had a wonderful relaxing weekend there. Great place. Fantastic ambiance, great SPA facilities, great breakfast, kind service. Not too crowded - due to the huge garden space there is always enough room for everyone. Kid and dog friendly, but mostly older people.

Cons: The only possible improvement would be to offer hard pillows to the guests.
