A great place to stop on a long distance road trip

Pros: It's right on the motorway junction on the main road route from the UK to Hamburg, Denmark and Sweden and has a Tesla supercharger. Breakfast was amazing and they have one of the best hotel swimming pools I know. The car park, the rooms and all the hotel facilities are generously proportioned making for a relaxed stay. This is one of the few hotels that wasn't designed by an accountant.

Cons: Despite it being the main route from Amsterdam to Hamburg, the motorway ends near the German border and the road to Cloppenburg is dangerous, has sudden poorly signed speed changes without warning and numerous speed cameras. It is the only place in the world I have ever seen one articulated lorry/semi-trailer overtake another one on the wrong side of the road.

I enjoyed my recent stay at the Hotel Emmen. The breakfast buffet was a definite highlight!

Pros: The room was fantastic, Smart TV's in the new section of the hotel. All facilities were clean and well maintained. The breakfast buffest was very impressive. The menu for the restaurant was great. Good selection of drinks. The staff was all very well mannered and helpful when required.

Cons: The location to Emmen was a little far outside, but this did not detract from the stay overall. Although some way to get into Emmen from the hotel via a public transport/transfer service would be a good idea.

Pros: Perfect hotell for us when we wanted some peace and quiet from the city. The breakfast was soo good and the room was big. Also we got to use the pool in the evening free. Very very very happy about out stay!

Pros: The service is excellent - the pool is lovely - the beds are very comfortable - the breakfast was fantastic apart from the coffee which was not nice at all.

Cons: The rooms are dated and the showers need a light in them.

Best breakfast ever!

Pros: The 'buffet' breakfast was the best ever! Very very tidily laid out with many many choices incl all sorts of juices. It was so good that we invited friends and family to spoil ourselves together.

Cons: Nothing serious. There are renovations and extensions going on, which only causes a bit of optical hindrance now and will provide more goodness in the coming future.
