A very pleasant stay with beautiful surroundings

Pros: A beautiful historic building with wonderful hosts. They kindly took care of our breakfast taking into account our several food allergies. Extremely kind host: thanks to him we visited the local villa museum that was very interesting. A very pleasant stay

Cons: The share toilet was a bit unexpected but it was spotless and it worked out well

Pros: Friendly host and large room with a nice bed. Breakfast was fine and neatly arranged.

Cons: Had not noticed the shared-bathroom detail (our mistake), but it was not a problem. Bathroom was cold; migt be inconvenient during a winterstay.

Unique old school experience, yet very confortable stay.

Pros: The house was very interesting, with an old school style, yet very confortable. The room was spacious with a very big bed, perfect for 2 people. It had a coffe machine in the room with some free coffee, which was very pleasant. Everything was clean and tidy.

Cons: There is nothing that really needs improvement. Nevertheless, some small things can be mention, but they were not an issue. We had to share the bathroom, which was not really a problem for us, but could be to other people. The rooms might not have the best sound proof, but it was not a problem. The pillows were a bit too big in height.

If you are looking for a cozy B&B, this is the place!

Pros: Loved the interior design, the breakfast and the creative way in which it was served! Top notch stuff!

Awesome place

Pros: Villa Steenwyck Giethoorn located very near to city center of Steenwijk. The ambience of hotel is very nice and its one of the memorable one. Rooms were very nice, neat & clean. I strongly recommend the best place to stay if in the planning to be in Steenwijk.

Pros: very clean, comfortable, and walkable distance to the train station. staff was also very nice and replied to our text and needs fast.

It was like being in a high class hotel from decades ago, unfortunately including cigarette smoke.

Pros: The building itself is very near perfectly decorated and the staff is very warm and friendly. The beds were nice, the rooms were sound proof, and each room had a historical theme. I really loved this place.

Cons: The bathroom is shared and, significantly, not heated. Having to run across the hall repeatedly at night to use the ice cold toilet diminished the experience a great deal. Also there was a smell of cigarette smoke. I don't know whether it was another patron or the staff, but it persisted throughout the night. I was unable to find anyone to take my key and check me out in a timely manner, so I just abandoned the key at the front desk.

Pros: The house was super well-decorated, clean, new, and cozy! Our room was super traditional and beautiful!

Cons: The light was a bit insufficient in our room.

Great atmospheric turn of the century villa hotel. Friendly owners.

Pros: Beautiful early 20th century villa (former nurses insititute). Spacious high-ceilinged room with four poster bed. Friendly reception. Eclectic bric-a-brac furniture. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we had to leave very early.

Cons: Bed in our room was extremely high (maybe from adding a (comfortable) box-spring mattress. Suggest lowering bed legs, if possible. The bath room has a separate exit door. Opening this door knocked down a vase on a pedestal in the hallway. Suggest permanently locking this door, as it serves no useful purpose.

Pros: Beautiful old home. Very accommodating about dropping luggage off. Nicely decorated room; very elegant and quite big

Cons: Needs bath mats especially in a shared bathroom. A few stairs to tackle with luggage.
