Van der Valk Hotel Hengelo

Fantastic hotel but dusty carpet.

Pros: Beautiful looking hotel! The Christmas decorations were amazing. Loved the entrance hall. Staff were ok but not overly enthusiastic and friendly. I always like to see happy friendly staff greet you. The room was fabulous and had everything you needed.

Cons: I was disappointed to find the edges of the carpeted hotel room dusty. They had not been hoovered. Only the main surface of the carpet had been hoovered and I did find a couple of cobwebs and an insect/spider in the corner of the room. I like and expect a clean room. Although everything else was clean. I’m am very finicky about hotel rooms so the dust/dirt around the edges of the carpet put me off. But other than that I can’t complain. Stayed in cheaper cleaner hotels with carpets. But don’t let this put you off a very nice hotel otherwise.

Fantastic Stay

Pros: Wellness area is fantastic - from the gym to the pool, relaxation area, sauna and steam - great product and a lot of attention to detail. Bathrooms - walk in shower

Cons: Some noisy rooms around us, people with dogs and even one night people smoking weed in the room in front of us.

A very cosy hotel for when you're traveling with your family

Pros: The room is very big and comfortable. Bathroom of good size. Breakfast was nice, with lots of sweet options to choose from. I think the pool area is probably the highlight of this hotel, and my husband really enjoys the sauna.

Cons: Maintenance of the room facilities can probably be better.

Will surely come back!

Pros: Coxy Hotel! Perfect place for a quick family stay or even for work. I was visiting for work. The place had a great feel to it. The staff were helpful and kind. The breakfast restaurant and also the other restaurant were good. Had dinner twice at the restaurant food was actually good! Most importantly, its at the exit of the main town of Hengelo, so very easy to get in and get out

Cons: The breakfast could have more options (at least a live eggs station).. Also if you are travelling with a lot of luggage, ask them for a room closer to the main lobby. There are no lifts in the second block and the suitcase will have to be dragged down.. it was OK for my business travel with one mid sized suitcase.

Great hotel, facilities and location.

Pros: Decent gym for a hotel gym and some excellent healthy and delicious meals on the menu. A good choice if you are trying to stay active / healthy whilst travelling.

Cons: Water could have been provided in the room.

Superb!

Pros: Great experience. Very nice hotel, convenient parking (including chargers for electric cars - already with cables!). Friendly personnel, Room was very spacious and clean, lots of space for family of 3. Wellness area and swimming pool was great, and this was followed by nice dinner at hotel restaurant, very attentive service. Recommend to reserve restaurant as it was quite full, we did reserve and all was prepared for us. Breakfast was also excellent, lots of choice and good quality.

Pros: service is excellent and always consistent. Food very good

Very good and convenient for nice and convenient stay.

Pros: Very large good room. Very clean and good shower foreseen. Very good breakfast and breakfast area. Very good parking facilities. Close access to highway.

Cons: Quite pricey given location.

Excellent hotel and not expensive

Pros: Food excellent , beautiful place , lovely rooms , very friendly, everything I hoped for

Cons: No kettle in room for making tea

Excellent place to stay.

Pros: I always use this hotel when traveling from the Hoek to Poland. Right by the Motorway but not affected by noise. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Large well equipped bathrooms. Exceptional Breakfast is available and plenty of parking.
