Wonderful campsite and lake just outside Groningen

Pros: We had a wonderful stay in one of the cabins. Our kids absolutely loved the lake with the diving tower and inflatables etc. The wash- and bathrooms were always very clean, the café by the lake was very reasonably priced and all the staff were very friendly. The site is super easy to get to by public transport, the bus from the centre of Groningen stops just around the corner. We hired a bike at the campsite and explored the area a bit which was lovely. Hope to be back soon!

Pros: The peaceful site was wonderful. The clean safe lake and diving tower were so much fun for all the family. The washrooms were clean and warm.

I love Camping Engelbert and hope we can stay again in the future.

Pros: Camping Engelbert is peaceful and so beautiful. It was our second time to stay and we would love to return. It helps when the weather is nice so we could enjoy the Natuurbad.

Cons: Sometimes there was a strong odor of manure at the campsite, maybe from a local farm? It didn’t spoil the beauty but it would have been better without the strong smell.

Nice cottage close to Groningen.

Pros: Nice cottage, good camping site with beach. Seem to have good facilities for children families. Good parking. Nice little terrace outside the door with a bIt cover for the rain. Refrigerator in cottage. Only 7,5 km from Groningen city center. Nice situated for bicycle trips.

Cons: No toilet nor water in cottage, but that was as informed so no problem with that. Grocery store not close by.

Relaxing and quiet

Pros: It was spacious. There was a TV with Netflix etc which was a great bonus and outside seating facilities. As well as simple cooking facilities. Beds were comfy. Board games included. The decor was modern. The playground and lakeside facilities are brilliant, as well as the small shop.

Cons: The only fault was that our lakeside view was obscured by campers. This isn’t a problem, but it was advertised with a lakeside view.

Pros: Superfriendly staff, so helpful. Beautiful camping, clean lavatory facility. A nice lake to swim in!

Cons: A little cold in the cabin we rented (end of may) Would be nice if some cuttlery were included in the cabin.
